Sun was out so I thought I would have one last pop up to Marwell this year, and spent some time at the otter enclosure as normal, love to watch them play and esp like to see them playing with stones, amazing how they do this wild or captive just the same..

Stroll round Marwell today, such great weather here shame it wasn`t like this in the summer. Also some of my shots I took on the day of the giraffes were used on the Marwell page which was nice..

Quick stroll round Marwell before the rain set it, and got a couple of shots
As normal for poor old Yasmin she was cat napping, still a lovely cat though..

Some young ostriches playing ..

Couple of foals..

Last but not least a mum and her hippo calf..

Popped up to Marwell zoo for a stroll round at the weekend, they have two birds there that I have never seen before, and they fascinated me. Called a Hamerkop, weird looking bird, they were nest building as well. The Hammerkop (Scopus umbretta), also known as Hamerkop,Hammerkopf, Hammerhead, Hammerhead Stork, Umbrette, Umber Bird, Tufted Umber, or Anvilhead, is a medium-sized wading bird (56 cm long, weighing 470 g). The shape of its head with a curved bill and crest the back is reminiscent of a hammer, hence its name.
