It is around this time of the year I tend to visit Marwell Zoo a little more, the tourists start to slow down, the animals wake up and the light is much better so I though today pop up getting towards the end of the kids holiday, worth a Sunday walk to stretch the legs on a dismal weather weekend all round.
Sadly the cats were all still asleep, really, good to see Yasmin back in the main enclosure she looked really stressed, flat on her back asleep
Didn`t even see a tiger leave the sleep den
A shot of a rather sleepy female Irina at Marwell enjoying the sun in her new enclosure.. and a pretty girl she is to
The boy Indeever is on the right.. I think ??? yea sure it is hehehe

Got up to Marwell today in the hope of seeing new snow leopard arrivals Indeever and Irina, the new breeding pair for the Zoo, the cats are both less than 2 years old.
Indeever the male has come from Zurich Zoo, Switzerland. He was born on 27 April 2008.
Irina the female has come from Nordens Ark in Sweden. She was born on 23 May 2008.
Both looked lovely cats to follow on from Yasmin, she I believe is in retirement, but once this pair get together will return to the main enclosure, as the younger couple move into 1 enclosure, I only managed to get a good sighting of the male, but am sure I will get many more as with Yasmin… Nice to see indeed.. The shots below are all Indeever, female to come

Sun was out so I thought I would have one last pop up to Marwell this year, and spent some time at the otter enclosure as normal, love to watch them play and esp like to see them playing with stones, amazing how they do this wild or captive just the same..
I`ve been lately thinking
About my lifes time
All the things Ive done
And how its been
And I cant help believing
In my own mind
I know Im gonna hate to see it end
Words and music by John Denver
I have had such a great day to day, started up at Marwell Zoo, to exercise the legs and have a look at the cats.. (hence the tigers in the title), as it was such a lovely day I travelled from here the pretty way home via Droxford, not intending to stop but just to take in the view on the way, but got as far as Droxford and had to stop, ended up walking along part of the wayfarers walk, down to the river Meon, then back up along the Meon Valley Trail (hence the tree`s), which is the old railway track that part of runs from Wickham to West Meon, great day for some reason made me think how lucky I was in life, hence the John Denver words at the start, been in my head all day long..
Oh yea, kissing gate, was the last gate I walked through at the end of the walk, a kissing gate if you don`t know is a typical gate used on walks ect, one gate that opens in an arc, last photo shows it..
Great day to you all, and to Jess.
